Gooey Butter Cake

Ooey, gooey, and full of cinnamon!  This recipe was provided by Dromedary Pound Cake consumer, Rose Bilger.  Thanks, Rose!

Makes 12 servings 

PREP TIME:  30 minutes 
BAKE  TIME:  40 minutes 

1 box (16 ounces) pound cake mix
1/2 cup butter OR margarine, melted
2 eggs
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
3-3/4 cups powdered sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350º F.

Mix pound cake mix, melted butter, 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon cinnamon with electric mixer until thoroughly blended.  Spread in a greased 9x13-inch baking pan.

Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, 2 eggs, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon with electric mixer until smooth and creamy.  Spread mixture over cake batter.

Bake 40 to 45 minutes, until top is lightly browned and cake begins to pull away from sides of pan.  Cool.  Sprinkle additional powdered sugar over top of cake, if desired.
