Anchos are the dried form of poblano chiles.  They are the sweetest of the dried chiles.  Durkee® Ancho Chile Seasoning combines them with garlic, onion, red and green bell peppers, and a dash of spice to bring you a well rounded blend.  Use it for any southwestern dish including soups, rices, salads, steaks, chicken and shrimp.  Ancho Chile Seasoning turns ordinary rice into a spicy side dish.


Ancho Rice Pilaf
 
8 Servings 25 Servings
Water 1 qt.  3 qts. 
Chicken base  2 tsp.  2 Tbsp. 
Durkee Ancho Chile Seasoning  2 Tbsp. 1/3 cup 
Rice, converted  2 cups 6 cups 

Combine all ingredients in a covered saucepan.  Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes or until water is absorbed and rice is tender.

Serve with pork, chicken or any Mexican dish.
