Baked Steak with Spanish Sauce 8 Servings 25 Servings
Tone's® Minced Onion 2 Tbsp. 1/3 cup
Water 1/4 cup 3/4 cup
Green pepper, chopped 1/2 cup 3/4 cup
Oil, vegetable 2 tsp. 2 Tbsp.
Tone's® Brown Gravy Mix 3 Tbsp. 1/2 cup + 2 Tbsp.
Water 1 cup 3 cups
Beef, round steak, boneless 2 1/2 lbs. 7 1/2 lbs.
Rehydrate Tone's® Minced Onion in water for about 10 minutes; drain off excess water. Sauté onion and green pepper in vegetable oil until tender, yet crisp. Mix Tone's® Brown Gravy Mix with second water. Pour over onions and green pepper. Heat sauce mixture until it reaches a boil and simmer for about 3 minutes. Trim fat from steak and brown steak lightly on both sides in a hot frying pan. Place in baking pan and pour sauce over steak. Cover steak and bake at 350°F until steak is tender; about 1 1/2 hours.
